"O Brasil acabou de se conscientizar do
que é a Copa. Eles começaram tarde demais. É o país com mais atrasos desde que
estou na FIFA e foi o que teve mais tempo, sete anos, para se preparar",
afirmou Blatter ao jornal 24 Heures.
Ao todo, seis dos 12 estádios previstos para
a competição ainda não foram inaugurados: a Arena Corinthians (São Paulo), a
Arena da Baixada (Curitiba), o Beira Rio (Porto Alegre), a Arena Pantanal
(Cuiabá), a Arena das Dunas (Natal) e a Arena da Amazônia (Manaus). Essas
últimas duas, no entanto, têm abertura programada para acontecer neste mês. O
prazo final dado pela FIFA era 31 de dezembro do ano passado.
No sorteio dos grupos da Copa do Mundo, na
Costa do Sauípe, na Bahia, o secretário-geral da entidade, Jérôme Valcke,
confirmou que as obras deverão ficar prontas somente a um mês da entrega das
arenas, em 22 de maio.
Outro motivo de preocupação da FIFA, os
protestos que atingiram as ruas durante a Copa das Confederações deverão se
repetir no Mundial. Blatter, ainda assim, não se mostra preocupado com a
possibilidade de as manifestações atrapalharem a realização do torneio entre os
dias 12 de junho e 13 de julho. Ele não acredita que os brasileiros ‘atacariam'
um esporte que é tratado como uma ‘religião' internamente.
"Não tenho medo. Nós sabemos que teremos
novas manifestações e protestos. Os últimos, na Copa das Confederações,
nasceram nas redes sociais. Não tinham objetivo, reivindicações reais. Mas
durante a Copa, elas serão mais concretas, mais estruturadas. O futebol será
protegido. Não acredito que os brasileiros atacarão o futebol diretamente. No
país deles, o futebol é uma religião", concluiu o dirigente, que assumiu o
comando da FIFA em 1998.
Estarei pagando para ver o que ocorrerá por
ocasião desta Copa, anteriormente registrei aqui outra opinião, pois realmente
acreditava que as coisas iriam correr normalmente. Mas, depois dos protestos
realizados e das manifestações de repúdio por todos os brasileiros que amam seu
País e que estão decepcionados com tudo o que está ocorrendo nele.
