Na cidade suíça de Zurique, O diretor executivo de Operações da Copa do Mundo da FIFA 2014, Ricardo Trade, apresentou relatório com ênfase na organização da Copa, os centros de treinamento, gramados e as reformas nos estádios.

Os membros do comitê executivo da FIFA sublinharam a importância de melhorias nas operações aeroportuárias, de acomodações e de deslocamento de transporte dentro das cidades.

- Depois da reconfirmação recebida da presidenta Dilma Rousseff e do governo brasileiro quanto ao cumprimento de todas as garantias, estamos confiantes de que, apesar das muitas tarefas que todos nós ainda temos pela frente, o Brasil organizará uma Copa do Mundo da FIFA excepcional em 2014 - disse Joseph Blatter, presidente da FIFA.

Também participaram do encontro Danny Jordaan e Alexey Sorokin, presidentes dos Comitês Organizadores da Copa da África do Sul e da Rússia, respectivamente.

Ricardo Teixeira teria recebido os valores por meio da Sanud, empresa de fachada de Lichenstein. Já começo a desconfiar que se for trocado a presidência da FIFA, teremos apenas uma mudança de 6 por meia dúzia. Como se pode falar uma coisa sem saber? Ele não esteve ou está aqui para ver o que está acontecendo.

FIFA presidential candidate Mohamed bin Hammam has backed Brazil’s preparations to host the 2014 World Cup.

Bin Hammam, who will take on incumbent FIFA chief Joseph Blatter in the June 1 election, wrote in his weekly blog that he was “sure” Brazil would stage a “wonderful” tournament. The country has come in for criticism from FIFA executives, including Blatter, for a perceived slow rate of preparation work.

Bin Hammam stated: “The whole world is looking at South America and especially in the direction of Brazil as the countdown towards the 2014 World Cup continues. Now is a time to focus on what is going on within the region and to support and encourage everyone within the South American continent.”

He added: “Brazil, I am sure, will stage a wonderful FIFA World Cup in a little over three years’ time...In spite of all the criticism in recent months relating to Brazil’s preparations, I have full confidence in the nation’s ability to host a hugely successful event and Brazil will show to the world – as South Africa did in 2010 – that football can be a force for positive growth and change. We need to support the efforts of the Brazilian people.”

I am beginning to suspect that if we swapped the presidency of FIFA, there will be only a change of 6 per half dozen. How can Mr. Bin Hammam talk without knowing a thing? He was not here (Brazil) to see what is happening.
