Pelé: Todo mundo sabe que Maradona me ama. Ele me adora. Maradona me ama!

As pessoas, inclusive.

King's Cup gave his two cents, or guess, rather, about the World Cup in 2010 and 2014.

A king never loses its majesty. Much less the hump. Not time to react. Nor to analyze the envious who dream of stealing his throne. Pelé proved once again because it still owns the scepter on Monday at a luncheon at which the Lancenet! Had access to restaurants Jardins in São Paulo. Even diplomatic, the King has not failed to give their opinion on various subjects.

With a smile here and there an evasive answer made clear, for example, how he found the goal from Luis Fabiano and controversial statements of Maradona.

Lancenet!: What do you think the second goal by Luis Fabiano on the Ivory Coast, in the 3-1 victory of the Brazilian, last Sunday: worthy of Pele or Maradona?

Pele: I think he got a bit of both. Gave one of Pele, with his hat, and one of Maradona, settling with his hand (laughs).

L!: Were you hurt by the recent declarations of Maradona, including the one that you should go to a museum?

Pelé: Everyone knows that Maradona loves me. He adores me. When opened the TV show in Argentina, called me. Made a party to raise money for Boca Juniors and also was there. Maradona loves me! Where has some event that needs to draw attention is that, I honor. And that was one more (laughs).

L!: Speaking of finals, we have some revelation to this issue in South Africa?

Pelé: In those early games did not have anyone who could appear as a future star. The highlight was still Messi, who made the game. Watched the game with Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal beat North Korea yesterday, 7-0) and after a time he scored again. But still can not consider anything here. The Cup is in the beginning, we wait.

L!: And the Brazilian Dunga, will you be away?

Pelé: Cheese, just got here and already ask me that! I thought the conversation would be more quiet (laughs). Everyone knows I have always supported Dunga, from the beginning. Unfortunately, today's football victory. And our coach won the most games (78% recovery) and major titles (2007, Copa America and Confederations Cup, 2009). How am I to criticize?

L!: Brazil faced Portugal at the 1966 World Cup in England. And you were hunting in the field. What do you think might happen in the game Friday?

Pelé: Playing against teams of tradition, especially the Europeans, it is always difficult. But now face Portugal in recent years and won (Brazil 6 x 2 Portugal, in December 2008, in Gamma). Cup is another story. The mine was not very good, but now there is more protection.Has a lot of camera. The guy takes yellow and avoid exaggerating the next not to take red. Pele was not for that. But still has to make a thousand goals (laughs).

L!: Many things have changed it. Peoples, inclusive. It seems that despite the long wait for World Cup, leaving just criticizing, ill enjoy the competition.

Pelé: Today, football is more to sales, television, and media. Must create, invent ... You see that the tradition of the shirts, respect between adversaries ... is not the same thing. The goalkeeper puts the shirt he want, with drawing, lilac. Players will color all of his shoes, earring in the ear (laughs). There was a big change. But, for me? No way. We follow the evolution of time and respect.

L!: And after all this time to have again a World Cup in Brazil. But the organization already has problems.

Pelé: This thing of worrying about four years before the World Cup does not distress me. The news is always increased. All host nations have had some problems. And Brazil, with the size you have, too. But I'm sure we'll make the World Cup. And one thing I agree is not to use public money for stadiums. We have examples in Japan and South Korea (that hosted the World Cup 2002), places that were not able to keep the public and then have serious problems.

L!: And the Morumbi stadium should be one of São Paulo FC?

Pelé: Morumbi is a private Club. I do not know if São Paulo FC would have money to make the reform required by FIFA. If so, fine. But it must be well thought out, because only then will use the stadium. .

L!: If you could choose the stadium without thinking of spending a reform, what would it be?

Pelé: The whole of Brazil has to be in Cup history. I think you would think by tradition, would have to be Pacaembu, with reforms to be left in condition. People forget, but Wembley was the cathedral of football, untouchable, could not move, and made a new, wonderful, so.
But has campuses in giving to think of something new.
