37 anos depois de se despedir com a camisa do Santos, o Rei do futebol fará parte do projeto do aniversário de 100 anos do clube, em 2012
O Santos anunciou de forma oficial, nesta quarta-feira, seu grande reforço para o centenário: o Rei Pelé. O bicampeão do mundo pelo time da Vila Belmiro será o embaixador do projeto do centésimo aniversário do clube, a ser comemorado em 2012. Além de Pelé, Neymar, Paulo Henrique Ganso e o jogador de futsal Falcão também estiveram presentes durante evento nesta quarta-feira, na Vila Belmiro.
"A paixão do Pelé pelo Santos era tanta que ele chegou a jogar de graça no seu último ano com o clube sendo o melhor do mundo. Me parecia que era um compromisso de justiça assinar um contrato com o Pelé 37 anos depois dele encerrar seu último contrato com o Santos. Faço isso como uma dívida de gratidão. Ele fez o Santos acreditar que não éramos um peixe de aquário, mas um peixe oceânico", disse o presidente santista, Luis Álvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro.
"Eu amo o Santos. Cheguei aqui com 14 para 15 anos e joguei um ano de graça, só para essa mulecada ver o tamanho do meu amor. O Santos abriu as portas do mundo para mim e eu poderia fazer qualquer coisa para o Santos", disse o Rei.
Se Pelé um dia jogou de graça pelo Santos, contudo, isso não significa que ele também não receberá para ser o garoto-propaganda do clube sob contrato. Segundo o diretor executivo do Santos, Armênio Neto, o Rei vai ser pago com valores de mercado por seus serviços.
"O negócio dele é vender a sua imagem e a gente não queria repetir o que acontecia antes, quando ele ajudava o Santos de bom grado", completou Neto. A ideia de ligar a imagem do Santos a Pelé de forma mais profissional já era defendida por Luis Álvaro ainda durante a campanha à presidência, em 2009.
O clube ainda pretende fazer uma série de ações até finalmente, em 14 de abril, celebrar os 100 anos de existência. Uma festa simultânea em Santos e São Paulo nesta data e uma partida dos jogadores profissionais contra um time de 100 crianças santistas serão realizados, e cogita-se até colocar Pelé, Neymar e Ganso juntos em campo.
Finalmente a diretoria do Santos tenta fazer justiça com seu maior representante, aliás, representante de toda esta Nação Brasileira. Tardou e quase falhou.
Receba um grande abraço Pelé de alguém que o viu jogar muitas e muitas vezes, que é seu fan de carteirinha, que teve o prazer de lhe conhecer, de conversar e de até carregar seu número de telefone para na hora que quiser ligar e poder falar com o rei do futebol de todos os tempos.
Tenho que pegar uma carona aqui e falar sobre o Eusébio, um jogador Português, que andou jogando algum futebol e tirou Pelé de campo na Copa de 1966, com seus conterrâneos, pois era o único meio de barrar o maior de todos os tempos. Lembro como se fosse hoje, deram três cacetadas, uma atrás da outra; Pelé olhava para o árbitro que não teve ação nenhuma (além de marcar as faltas), o Rei levantava, pegava a bola, batia a falta e eles vinham novamente e o quebraram, machucaram tanto, até que o rei teve que ser carregado para fora de campo e não voltou mais, deixando Portugal vencer a partida.
E hoje, este mal caráter, fala que Garrincha jogou mais que Pelé, pra quê? Para mostrar o que eu já sabia? Que você, Eusébio, nunca mereceu as honrarias que recebeu, nem merecia estar aqui em nosso País, conversando abobrinhas, se fazendo passar por personalidade (para mim) é mais, “non grata”.
