Não à toa a Alemanha estreou na Copa do Mundo com um futebol envolvente. Afinal, a seleção foi favorecida. Essa é a visão do zagueiro inglês Jamie Carragher, que alegou que os alemães partem com vantagem por já estarem familiarizados com a Jabulani, classificando a situação de "injusta".
Os países patrocinados pela marca que fabrica a Jabulani (Argentina, França, Alemanha, México, Nigéria e Espanha) usaram a bola em alguns confrontos e na Holanda, Dinamarca e Suíça a polêmica bola foi usada em alguns torneios.
