São Paulo - Após mais de duas horas de reunião no Palácio dos Bandeirantes, sede do governo paulista, o governador de São Paulo, Alberto Goldman, e o presidente da CBF, Ricardo Teixeira, confirmaram que o Estado continua nos planos da Copa do Mundo de 2014, e que uma solução viável deverá ser encontrada ainda neste mês.
“Tivemos uma excelente conversa, saímos os três [o prefeito de São Paulo, Gilberto Kassab, também participou da reunião] com o espírito de fazer o máximo e na próxima semana iremos conseguir solução”, garantiu Ricardo Teixeira, num breve pronunciamento, ao comentar o fato de São Paulo ainda não ter um estádio definido para o Mundial.
Goldman também garantiu a participação de São Paulo na Copa, mas sem investimento de dinheiro público na possível reforma do Morumbi ou na construção de uma nova arena. "Tivemos concordância total e vamos fazer com que se viabilize a abertura da Copa aqui. O esforço é nessa direção. Mas não há dinheiro público para fazer ou reformar estádio", disse o governante.
Ontem vi e escutei pela TV., e me deixou realmente chateado o comentário do Governador de São Paulo, depois que viu quantos repórteres e jornalistas estavam esperando suas explicações (e realmente acho que somente ele é que não acordou e não sabe a importância disto, ou então, não tem como ser o governador da cidade mais importante da America Latina), comentou “parece que vamos discutir o destino da humanidade”, estas foram algumas de suas palavras, o que para mim, mostrou despreparo, ignorância e falta de respeito; a nossa Nação, ao presidente LULA, a CBF, a FIFA e ao mundo do futebol.

Goldman also secured the participation of Sao Paulo in the Copa, but without investment of public money in the possible reform of Morumbi or building a new arena. "We had a total agreement and we will make it possible the opening of the World Cup here. The effort is in that direction. But there is no public money to make or alter stadium," said the governor.
Yesterday I saw and heard on TV., and let me really upset the comment by the Governor of São Paulo, after he saw how many reporters and journalists were waiting for their explanations (and really only guess is that he did not wake up and do not know the importance of this, or else has no way to be the governor of the most important city in Latin America), said "it seems that we will discuss the fate of mankind", these were some of his words, which to me showed despair, ignorance and lack of respect ; to our nation, President Lula, CBF, FIFA and the football world.
