BIG 5: Transfer Window Analysis Winter 2015 is available for download. The 2015 winter edition examines the international transfers involving clubs from England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Based on official data inputted into the International Transfer Matching System (ITMS), the report highlights key trends and provides peer-to-peer comparisons for the BIG 5 countries.
Highlights of the BIG 5 report include:
- New record high in transfer spending at USD 466 million – all countries but France increased their spending this winter compared to last year
- Number of players engaged by the BIG 5 stabilised this winter transfer window at 452 incoming transfers
- Out of contract remains the most widespread type of contract among the BIG 5 countries
- Conditional transfer fees continued to increase this winter, representing 23% of the BIG 5 total transfer fees
