Durante os eventos que antecederam o sorteio das Eliminatórias para a Copa do Mundo de 2014, sábado, na Marina da Glória, no Rio, a diretoria do Corinthians teve a garantia de que o jogo de abertura do Mundial será realizado em seu estádio, em fase de construção no bairro de Itaquera.
Para a opinião pública, porém, o secretário-geral da entidade, Jérôme Valcke, passa informações diferentes. 'Ainda estamos analisando essa situação (da abertura). Vamos deixar para resolver isso apenas em outubro', afirmou, durante entrevista coletiva.
A CBF adota tom semelhante. Ao mesmo tempo em que evita confirmar a informação, Valcke deixa nas entrelinhas que São Paulo é a cidade favorita para receber o evento, como sempre foi. 'Sabemos do poder financeiro, comercial e político de São Paulo. Trata-se de uma das maiores cidades do mundo e uma abertura de Copa do Mundo precisa de uma estrutura que poucas cidades têm', observou o dirigente.
O presidente Andres Sanchez já trabalha sabendo que a seleção brasileira fará sua primeira apresentação no Mundial de 2014 no Itaquerão, dia 13 junho (mais detalhes na edição desta terça-feira de O Estado de S. Paulo).
É brincadeira o que acontece no futebol brasileiro e no mundial, vejam as informações acima, desencontradas, mas tudo caminha para São Paulo, não tenho dúvidas, agora sobre o primeiro jogo da Copa do Mundo de 2014 ser da Seleção Brasileira?
Pelo pouco que sei, existirá um sorteio onde sairão os Grupos e as sedes, ou será que tudo isto é apenas ficção e tudo já está arrumado....E o Campeão da Copa já podemos saber?
