O OTIMISMO QUE UNE LEÃO E TIMBÚ / THE OPTIMISM THAT UNITES SPORT AND NÁUTICO.

Apesar dos números desfavoráveis, de um retrospecto histórico nada animador nos pontos corridos da Série A e do atual cenário em que vivem os clubes pernambucanos, as diretorias de Sport e Náutico estão otimistas em relação às campanhas das equipes neste Brasileiro. Fica claro que escapar do rebaixamento para a Segunda Divisão é o objetivo inicial do Leão e do Timbu. Porém, a dupla do estado não esconde o desejo de beliscar uma vaga em alguma competição continental.

Esbanjando confiança no Rubro-negro, o diretor de futebol do Sport, Guilherme Beltrão, prefere deixar o passado de lado. “Não se pode trabalhar em cima de retrospecto, mas na realidade atual do clube”, falou. Realidade esta que, para o dirigente, não passa de uma disputa por uma vaga na Copa Sul-Americana.

De acordo com Beltrão, o motivo de o Sport não brigar na parte mais de cima da tabela nos pontos corridos é meramente financeira. “Há uma discrepância muito grande dos clubes de São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais e Rio Grande do Sul em relação aos demais. Mesmo com propostas de salários menores, os próprios empresários preferem colocar os seus jogadores nesses times. Fica difícil competir assim”, pontuou.

Vamos tentar não cair, buscar uma vaga na Sul-Americana e, quem sabe, sonhar até com uma Libertadores”, afirmou o vice-presidente executivo do Timbu, Toninho Monteiro, que esqueceu das recentes declarações de que o Náutico “sofreria” na Série A por receber uma das menores cotas de televisionamento.

A partir do próximo fim de semana, o Campeonato Brasileiro inicia a sua 10ª edição no sistema de pontos corridos.
