LISBOA (Reuters) - A Federação Portuguesa de Futebol aprovou o seu novo estatuto em conformidade com as regras da FIFA neste sábado em uma tentativa de evitar o banimento da seleção e dos times do país de torneios internacionais.

O presidente da FIFA, Joseph Blatter, pediu que a FPF aprovasse o seu novo estatuto depois que as associações regionais de Portugal rejeitaram a iniciativa com medo de perder influência em nível nacional.

A organização que regula o futebol ameaçou o país com sanções, incluindo possíveis suspensões que poderiam ameaçar a participação da seleção portuguesa no torneio classificatório para a Euro Copa de 2012 e barrar os principais clubes do país das competições da UEFA.

A FPF disse em nota oficial que o seu novo estatuto teve 81 por cento de aprovação. Assim, vai ser transferido significativo poder de voto das associações regionais para os campeonatos do país, sindicatos de jogadores, árbitros e técnicos.

Fico me perguntando o porquê da FIFA não fazer nada no Brasil? Como todos sabem, o Joseph Blatter deixa que as coisas brasileiras se resolvam aqui mesmo, ou seja, aqui quem manda é a CBF, ou melhor, a desorganização. Nem mesmo o Ministério da Justiça e o CADE têm força para fazer as mudanças necessárias no nosso futebol.
