A FIFA anunciou nesta quinta-feira a criação de uma força-tarefa que visa evoluir o nível do futebol atual. No que depender de seus líderes, a missão será cumprida. O alemão Franz Beckenbauer será o presidente, enquanto Pelé será o vice deste 'grupo de discussão', como a própria entidade define.

No total serão 22 membros, 'incluindo representantes do Comitê de Futebol, do Comitê Técnico e de Desenvolvimento, do Comitê Médico e do Comitê de Arbitragem, entre outros especialistas do esporte. A missão deles é fazer uma análise aprofundada do futebol moderno, a fim de formular propostas para desenvolvê-lo em todos os níveis', explicou a FIFA em seu site oficial.

A força-tarefa é um projeto do presidente Joseph Blatter, que justificou sua criação dizendo que ela ajudaria a criar uma Copa do Mundo 'mais atrativa' do que a vista na África do Sul, em 2010.

Além de Pelé e Beckenbauer, outros grandes jogadores da história do futebol mundial estão envolvidos no projeto. Nomes como Bobby Charlton, Fernando Hierro, Savicevic e Cafu figuram entre os escolhidos. A primeira reunião do grupo acontecerá no próximo dia 10 de maio e um relatório será entregue aos membros da FIFA no dia 1.º de junho.
