A
seleção brasileira atingiu a sua pior posição no ranking da FIFA, atualizado
nesta quarta-feira, que permanece sendo liderado pela Espanha. A equipe
dirigida por Mano Menezes deixou pela primeira vez o grupo dos 10 primeiros
colocados e ocupa apenas a 11ª colocação, com 1.012 pontos.
O Brasil estava em quinto lugar em junho e perdeu seis posições
na atualização de julho da lista. Para essa queda, pesaram as recentes derrotas
em amistosos para México (2 a 0) e Argentina (4 a 3), em partidas disputadas no
último mês, nos Estados Unidos.
Além disso, foram descartados três jogos disputados em junho de
2008: as derrotas para Venezuela, em um amistoso, e Paraguai, pelas
Eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo de 2010, ambos por 2 a 0, e o empate por 0 a 0
com a Argentina, também pelo torneio classificatório para o último Mundial.
A seleção brasileira não tem compromissos agendados para o mês
de julho e só volta a entrar em campo em agosto. No dia 15, em Solna, a equipe
vai encarar a Suécia, em duelo que marcará a despedida do Estádio Rasunda. No
momento, a seleção escandinava ocupa a 17ª colocação no ranking da FIFA.
O êxito da seleção espanhola na defesa do título da Eurocopa,
conquistado no último fim de semana, levou a equipe a permanecer na ponta da
lista e até ampliar a sua vantagem na primeira colocação. Agora, os bicampeões
europeus e atuais campeões mundiais somam 1.691 pontos.
Derrotada pela Espanha na final da Eurocopa, a seleção italiana
subiu seis posições, entrou no Top 10 do ranking da FIFA e agora está em sexto
lugar. A Eurocopa, aliás, foi uma das responsáveis pela queda abrupta do Brasil
no ranking da FIFA, que foi criado em 1993.
A Alemanha, que foi eliminada na semifinal do torneio
continental pela Itália, subiu para o segundo lugar no ranking da FIFA,
superando o campeão sul-americano Uruguai, que está na terceira posição. Mesmo
sem alcançar as semifinais de um torneio importante desde 1996, a Inglaterra
subiu duas posições e passou a ocupar a quarta colocação.
A boa campanha na Eurocopa, quando parou apenas nas semifinais,
levou a seleção de Portugal a ascender cinco posições no ranking da FIFA.
Assim, a equipe está na quinta colocação, logo à frente da seleção italiana,
que é seguida pela Argentina.
Derrotada nas suas três partidas na fase de grupos da Eurocopa,
a Holanda, atual vice-campeã mundial, caiu três posições e está apenas na
oitava colocação. As seleções de Croácia e Dinamarca completam o Top 10 do
ranking da FIFA.
Em 16ºlugar, a seleção da Costa do Marfim é o melhor time
africano na lista. O México está na 19ª posição e lidera as equipes da CONCACAF.
Logo atrás, na 20ª colocação, o Japão é o time asiático mais bem classificado
no ranking da FIFA.
A Nova Zelândia subiu cinco posições, está em 95º lugar, como a
melhor equipe da Oceania, apesar do Taiti ter sido campeão continental. A
seleção taitiana subiu 41 lugares e agora é o número 138 do mundo.
Um total de 133 jogos contaram pontos para esta atualização do
ranking da FIFA, incluindo 31 da Eurocopa, 60 das Eliminatórias da Copa do
Mundo e 15 das Eliminatórias da Copa Africana de Nações de 2013. A próxima
lista será anunciada no dia 8 de agosto.

profissional, mesmo entendendo que daqui a 2 anos provavelmente estes jovens
estarão defendendo a seleção principal na Copa do Mundo de 2014, mas até lá, ainda
faltam + de 700 dias. Portanto, vocês estão
indo na contra mão do que é organização e profissionalismo, feitos com
seriedade, transparência e conhecimento.

The Brazilian team has reached its worst
