Para ter uma arena em São Paulo com capacidade para receber a abertura da Copa de 2014, o governador Geraldo Alckmin decidiu bancar a diferença de 20 mil lugares necessária para que o novo estádio do Corinthians possa ser a sede do jogo inaugural do Mundial. Isso custará cerca de R$ 70 milhões aos cofres públicos, valor que não está dentro do orçamento de R$ 820 milhões estipulado pela construtora Odebrecht para a construção do Itaquerão.
Carlos Armando Paschoal, diretor superintendente da Odebrecht, confirmou a informação. 'Isso não está nos R$ 820 milhões. Não está no nosso contrato. Vai ser uma obra a ser contratada pelo governo do Estado de São Paulo', garantiu o executivo, em entrevista à rádio CBN. Ele explicou que o valor da obra está previsto para uma arena de 48 mil lugares, incluindo toda a estrutura de camarotes e dentro do padrão FIFA para uma abertura de Copa.
Desde o princípio, o presidente do Corinthians, Andrés Sanchez, disse que não pagaria a diferença para ter um estádio de abertura de Copa. O principal entrave era a capacidade, já que a FIFA exige pelo menos 65 mil lugares. No clube, todos entendiam que o custo de se manter uma arena maior do que 48 mil lugares era inviável. Assim, a solução encontrada para ter o jogo inaugural do Mundial foi convencer o governo estadual a bancar a estrutura provisória.
'O que o Estado vai fazer é dar apoio logístico ao evento de abertura da Copa e não ao estádio do Corinthians. Após a realização dos jogos, essa estrutura será retirada. Nenhum parafuso dessa estrutura provisória ficará com o Corinthians', explicou Emanuel Fernandes, secretário estadual de Planejamento e Desenvolvimento e coordenador do Comitê Paulista da Copa de 2014, ao confirmar o gasto com os 20 mil lugares extras do Itaquerão.
Depois de tanta celeuma, disse e não disse chega-se a uma solução. E será que tem alguém que acreditará nisto? Acho que não, todavia isto é o nosso País, nossos administradores (políticos). O que é agora pode não ser logo mais, e provavelmente não será amanhã, todos os brasileiros já sabem disso.
Acredito que isto é outra piada, porque se o Estado de São Paulo e a torcida Corintiana não encher este estádio, quem encherá no Brasil? Ninguém. A torcida corinthiana lotará sem sombra de dúvidas esta nova Arena, falta é visão ou capacidade de visualizar o futuro deste grandioso clube.
