RECIFE – IDIOMA É UMA DAS GRANDES BARREIRAS PARA A COPA / RECIFE – LANGUAJE IS ONE THE BIGGEST BARRIERS FOR THE WORLD CUP.

Challenges for the event were discussed yesterday in Recife.

Pernambuco is preparing for the World Cup in 2014 and there are many challenges to be faced until the arrival of the event. The theme was part of the debate "How Pernambuco is preparing to receive the World Cup?" Held yesterday in Recife Praia Hotel in Pina. For the holder of the Special Secretariat of World Cup 2014 (Secopa) Recife, Amir Schvartz, one of the biggest barriers to be overcome is the language.

"FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) requires, for example, there are bilingual signs in the city, with signs in the local language and English," he said. "Moreover, to cater to tourists from different countries that we receive, it is important that the actors of the tourism production chain know to communicate in English."

Schvartz cited as complicating the different levels of education for those who are part of this sector. "How to teach a street sales man to speak English?" He asked. "But we will find a way. And companies and unions must mobilize themselves also collaborate in this regard. " He reported that in 2011 20,000 workers were trained in tourism. For the municipal secretary of Secopa also lacks public perceptions about the event. "People think there is a long time. We miss that civil society to mobilize more, we bring proposals for action. "

Schvartz also said that there are many requirements of FIFA that the city needs to develop. "Our police have no training in relation to terrorism; we do not have this problem here. As the World Cup will be in the spotlight, we need this care. We'll have to make a qualification with our police in this regard. "

For the general manager of Institutional of Secopa-PE, Ciro Pedrosa, the Cup is the opportunity to design Pernambuco as an international tourist destination. "This is an opportunity to show it to the world. There is an increased flow of visitors in countries receiving this tournament, even at the end of the event. Let's enjoy it. "

Another question concerns the matches to be held in the State, on days 14, 20, 23, 26 and June 29, same period of the São João, festivities. "We are studying the best way to commune the two parties." The President of Recife Convention & Visitors Bureau, Paulo Menezes said that we must achieve urban mobility and bring investments to the State. "We have to disclose Pernambuco as a place where companies should invest."

A long time ago I putted myself to help if I was called. I sent my cv to the senator Armando Monteiro, but never got an answer. And who wants to know what I think, is just follow us, here, on the blog. We are always reflecting about the lack, and also, what we can improve, to we really get a good logistics for the World Cup in Recife.

I've made several trips using the transports that are used by locals and visitors. I used the TIP (Passager Interstate Transport), the METROREC (Metropolitan Subway lane). And of course drove a car at the rush hour (mean, now, every hour is rush hour) in Recife, center, and adjacent streets to the Arena in São Lourenço da Mata, went to the site (Arena) and saw the buildings, went to Recife in the season of rain, to feel what they will feel. I know that much is being changed, but we need to change much more than that.
