Em entrevista ao BandSports, o treinador foi enfático ao negar qualquer chance de assinar com o time da Vila Belmiro. 'Não, de jeito nenhum. As pessoas têm de entender que nem todo mundo no futebol é igual. O Marcelo [Martelotte, interino do Santos] tem de trabalhar tranquilo. Desde ontem (domingo) começaram a falar isso, mas você pode ter certeza do que eu estou falando', afirmou.
Ele ainda foi além, ao dizer que deseja ficar afastado do mundo do futebol por um tempo. 'Vou no mínimo ficar 30 dias para depois pensar no que vou fazer. Não tomo esse tipo de atitude, de sair de um lugar e ir para o outro. Não estou dando o famoso 'migué'. Estou abrindo mão de um contrato muito forte, o melhor da minha carreira, para ficar desempregado', disse.
Muricy também aproveitou para reiterar o motivo de sua saída do Fluminense: a falta de estrutura do clube das Laranjeiras. A decisão do técnico foi divulgada em nota oficial após o empate sem gols no clássico contra o Flamengo, no Engenhão.
