Nascido em Caratinga, Minas Gerais, Felix iniciou a carreira defendendo o Juventus e depois passou por Portuguesa e Nacional, todos clubes de São Paulo, e em seguida foi para o Fluminense, pelo qual atuou por oito anos, ente 1968 e 1976, quando se aposentou.

Em meio ao período que defendeu o Fluminense, Felix acabou ganhando a confiança do técnico Zagallo, que apostou no goleiro como titular no Mundial de 1970. Naquela competição, na qual craques como Pelé, Rivellino, Gerson e Tostão consagraram uma das maiores seleções da história, Felix teve atuações destacadas principalmente nos jogos contra Inglaterra e Uruguai, este último pela semifinal.

Já com a camisa do Fluminense, Felix foi campeão carioca em 1969, 1971, 1973 e 1975, além de vencedor da Taça de Prata em 1970, que depois acabou sendo reconhecido pela CBF como primeiro título brasileiro da equipe das Laranjeiras.

É com grande pesar que falo sobre esta triste nóticia. Um grande goleiro, um grande ser humano e acima de tudo, uma pessoa simples e que nunca andou de salto alto, sempre esteve ao alcance de todos. RIP meu camarada.
