Futebol no Rio-2016 será em Maracanã, Engenhão, Arena Corinthians e mais 4 estádios / FIFA CONFIRMS FOOTBALL VENUES FOR RIO DE JANEIRO IN 2016

Fonte Nova (Salvador-BA)

FIFA, football’s global governing body, has included Manaus in a confirmed list of cities that will host football games during the 2016 summer Olympic Games.
The organisation last month added Manaus to a list of potential host cities alongside Rio de Janeiro for football events at the Games. The men’s and women’s football tournaments, which will be the only events from the Games that will be staged outside of host city Rio, will comprise 58 games in six different cities.
Both the Olympic Stadium and the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro will stage Olympic football matches, as will the Amazônia Arena in Manaus. São Paulo’s Corinthians Arena, the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasília, Salvador’s Arena Fonte Nova and the Mineirão in Belo Horizonte will also stage matches.
The Maracanã, centerpiece of Brazil’s staging of the 2014 Fifa World Cup, will host the final games of both the men’s and women’s competitions. The final schedule will be determined in the coming days.
“The inclusion of Manaus in the Rio 2016 Olympic schedule will enrich the tournament with a visit of the football players to one of the most iconic locations in the world,” Rio 2016 and Brazilian Olympic Committee president Carlos Nuzman said. “I am certain that the Amazon will welcome the Olympic world with a memorable celebration.”
Speculation over the number of venues that would be used had arisen due to FIFA's concerns over pitches not being able to withstand the demands of holding all the early round games. The governing body was said to be pressing for venues that were used during the World Cup last year to be utilized during the 2016 Games.
Marco Polo Del Nero, chairman of the organizing committee for the Olympic football tournaments, added: “The Olympic football tournaments will be a fantastic opportunity to revive the great atmosphere seen during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, not only in Rio de Janeiro but also in the other five cities. They did an excellent job in 2014, and now they can use the World Cup stadiums and infrastructure already in place to unite the country for a major event once more. I am confident that the participating teams will have an unforgettable Olympic experience.”
London 2012 utilized Wembley Stadium, along with venues in Manchester, Newcastle, Coventry, Glasgow and Cardiff for its football competitions. Mexico defeated Brazil in the men’s final, while the United States took gold in the women’s final, defeating Japan.

ROMÁRIO CHAMA MANO DE IMBECIL, FALA EM CARTEL / ROMÁRIO CALLS MANO MORON, POINTS “CARTEL” IN CBF

E Deus salve a "Rainha", quero dizer, Presidenta.

The climate between Romario and Mano Menezes is still far from good. For nearly two weeks, the two had exchanged barbs. The coach called Congressman and former player "profiteer" who responded by calling disaffection of "idiot," "imbecile" and casting doubt on the criteria of the coach at the time of the convening of the Brazil national team. On Wednesday, the shorty guy again raised suspicions about the criteria of Mano lists.

"On the last call of Mano, another example of what's going on inside the selection in a cartel convocations”. Convening of the Hulk for the Olympics games and thereafter, the realization of one of the most expensive transfers in football history. The player left from Porto, Portugal, for Zenit, Russia, for 55 million euros ($ 140.8 million of reais), "Romário said via Twitter”.

The former player had been critical to the convening of the attacker player to the Olympics after the coach make the list. Also in relation to the competition played between the end of July and the first half of August, the shorty man has heavily criticized the coach of the Brazilian team after the loss to Mexico in the decision. "Thankfully, we're seeing the last of him in action at Brazilian team," stated shortly after the setback by 2 to 1.

The goalkeeper Cassio, from Corinthians, another player was quoted in the statement of Romário suspicious. "And now the Corinthians goalkeeper, who has linked his economic rights of the people ...from the Brazilian Football Confederation after the call and some caps, if not already is, will be sold to Roma. Who leads?" , Asked the politician.

In our previous review about the interview of Wanderley Luxemburgo, I commented that at, least, these were strange coincidences and now Romario is also talking more directly what is happening.

If a cartel is not happening in CBF and in the selection, then nothing is happening in our football, i.e. the State Federations, the CBF and even in the FIFA, all these rumors of "bribery", "excesses", " favoritism", continuance of power, payments to those who left the command of the CBF, etc.., etc., its only fantasy.

It will only change if the Federal government intervene as soon as possible, because we do not need to remember that the cleaning has to be done before the World Cup, at least, because since the Confederations Cup is already around the corner. And God save our Queen, means, President.

A questão é o terceiro ponto, a escola.

Declaração do Senador Cristovam Buarque. Na TV Senado.
13/08/2012

The Olympics are over and now the torch is in our hands and the expectation of making a good event too.

But when we realize that the newspapers 'yes, there is concern about the results but we will overcome this in 2016.'

But honestly speaking, there is the slightest possibility of Brazil, jumps in and reach the 45 medals the U.S., 38 from China, 29 from Britain, or 24 of Russia. There is no way we get there for a reason, the gold medals depend on three things and we have two, but refuse to do the third.

The first, the larger the population the greater the chance of having a talent, Brazil could be perfectly the country with the most talent in the world, we also have the GDP it is necessary to invest in training and polishing of these people. If we watch by GDP which is the energy investment, we should have been the sixth of the world, by population, the fifth of the world, but we were in 22nd position.

In a rich country like the U.S. every medal is equivalent to 328 billion dollars, China falls to 192bi, Russia goes to 77bi, Korea go to 68 billion, and Brazil each cost 831 billion. That is, the proportion of GDP for the medal, you see, the United States who are the wealthiest spent less than Brazil. It's a comparison: The amount of wealth by the number of gold medals.

If we take the proportion of the population in China, for example, which is greater than 6 x 18 would our gold, U.S. would 6 and Britain 1, South Korea should not have any because its population is much smaller than ours.

The question is the third point, is the school. A country to succeed, must have population, GDP and a strong - we have it, but is to sift talent in school, and we do not have. When looking at a bright gold mining, the miner takes a sieve and will removing the gravel in the sport, the sieve is the school, people get it and through it the sports arise those who show talent, and it is also demonstrated persistence.

And only then, are these who demonstrate talent and persistence, is that they are taken to specialist centers and with the necessary vigor, by train a gold medal.

Sure, there are exceptions, here or there you find a marathon or a football player, but increasingly the great stars are formed in small schools, our shame to have three gold medals, while smaller countries acquired more, it appears that our weakness is the lack of time and give structure to be formed that children within schools and that can represent and compete with Chinese and Americans as equals, not just one or two modalities, but all of them.

So I say, with great sadness, forget 2016. For in medal in four years, will not give time to gather a strong group to achieve a high level in the final ranking of the Olympiad, will be necessary to invest in their children 5 and 6 years old, who will take the male gender, 15 years to graduate and be able to compete at a high level.

All it requires a lot of talent, also requires the recognition, and we're not giving it to those who need and deserve.

I was speechless when Diego Hipolito apologized for a mistake he made - a silly mistake that anyone would commit, who has to apologize to the people of Brazil, Diego, we, the politicians and administrators in this country, not invest in children and do not believe in your future.

We do that in 50 years do not invest what is necessary for Brazil to be a sports power. I'm sorry, but it is an illusion of those who are saying that we can produce champions starting 15 years of age, those who believe we can create these champions of the Olympics starting.

A factory of champions is formed early, with eight years in China and the U.S. already has a child monitoring technician in his own school. Prior to the 15 already in the Olympic one, this one! It is a factory of champions.

We transform our country into a crematorium talents, just as we burn our intellectual in any country that withholds education to their children. It will be a great shame we get 5 or 6 gold in an Olympiad in the house.

If we compare with others, we have failed profoundly, and this failure does not come from athletes, but for us, politicians and administrators for we feel that we were not able to do what schools are all good, the best quality, because you can not only the city take over the schools, but the union, the federalization of the school is necessary for Brazil to grow in the Olympics and the economy.

We need to do in school that she has the ability to sift through and reveal talents.

I have no doubt that we will do a good Olympiad - as organizers. As champions, do not see how.

Senator Christopher Buarque.
13/08/2012

I agree 80% of this speech by the Senator, the man who should be our Sports Minister, because he understands and speaks deeply about our problems and has the decency to acknowledge the mistakes of politicians who are managers, administrators of our country.

Today I also had the opportunity to see the explanation of Aldo Rebelo, who stays "minister", directly from London, and I'm thinking to myself, while we have indications for these political positions, we will continue going backward instead of moving forward to correct
these problems so lucidly described and discussed by Cristovam Burque.

However, we have to start doing something now and money is certainly not lacking, may lack the political will or knowledge in ours future mayors.
