Nesta segunda-feira, ele falou pela primeira vez com a imprensa após a internação e negou ter dependência alcoólica.

'Álcool é uma droga social, até estimulada para que todos consumam. Mas na verdade, nunca fui dependente de álcool, nunca tive abstinência, tremores. Podia ficar dias, meses sem beber que nunca me fez nada de mal. Bebia mais pela minha timidez, minha dificuldade de relacionamento no início da minha fase adulta. O álcool era uma companhia, assim como o cigarro é para muita gente, até mesmo para mim. É um companheiro para poder conviver bem com parte da loucura que é essa sociedade que a gente vive hoje', declarou, em entrevista à TV Globo.

Em agosto, Sócrates já havia ficado nove dias hospitalizado por conta de uma outra hemorragia. Graças a estes dois problemas, a possibilidade de um transplante de fígado ainda não foi descartada. No entanto, o ex-jogador ainda precisará passar por uma fase de reabilitação antes de receber o novo órgão, caso seja necessário. 'O futuro, a gente não sabe. Na verdade, ainda não tenho nem indicação de transplante agora. Até porque a equipe médica tem como condição o paciente estar afastado do álcool há seis meses. Ainda me faltam uns 60 dias para tanto', apontou.

Respirando sem a ajuda de aparelhos, Ricardo está lúcido, e com estabilidade clínica e neurológica, informa o boletim médico divulgado nesta manhã. Interagindo bem com seus familiares e funcionários do hospital, o comandante vascaíno segue em boa recuperação.

O treinador tem realizado fisioterapia, e responde bem ao tratamento, além de participar de sessões de fonoaudiologia, a fim de se evitarem sequelas pela AVE que Ricardo Gomes sofreu, no jogo entre Flamengo e Vasco, no final do primeiro turno do Campeonato Brasileiro.
