Blatter esteve na semana passada em Brasília, onde se reuniu com a presidente Dilma Rousseff, Pelé, Aldo, e o ex-jogador Ronaldo, atualmente membro do conselho do Comitê Organizador Local (COL).
O presidente da FIFA, Joseph Blatter, enviou carta ao ministro do Esporte, Aldo Rebelo, na qual agradece a recepção que teve no Brasil e afirma estar convencido de que a Copa do Mundo de 2014 será um sucesso. A carta indica uma diminuição nas tensões entre FIFA e governo após declaração do secretário-geral da entidade, Jérôme Valcke, que irritou os brasileiros.
"Com o apoio e a cooperação do governo brasileiro e a sua, estou convencido de que juntos poderemos coordenar o comando deste projeto em harmonia, entregando uma Copa do Mundo extremamente exitosa", disse Blatter, segundo comunicado do Ministério do Esporte divulgado nesta sexta-feira.
"Agora que retornei a Zurique, por favor, permita-me agradecê-lo por sua recepção e o delicioso jantar oferecido em sua casa com sua família e amigos", acrescenta Blatter ao ministro.
A reunião aconteceu depois de o Brasil vetar Valcke como interlocutor da FIFA para o Mundial. O secretário-geral afirmou no começo do mês que os organizadores da Copa precisavam levar um "chute no traseiro" para agilizar os preparativos do evento.
Valcke e Blatter pediram desculpas em cartas ao governo brasileiro, que aceitou, e em seguida foi marcado o encontro em Brasília. Na reunião, Dilma assegurou que o país cumprirá com as garantias acertadas para realizar a Copa, mas não ficou claro se Valcke permanece como principal intermediação entre FIFA e Brasil.
Agora com os ânimos desacelerados e as coisas voltando ao normal, pelo menos no que concerne a conversas e churrascos. Porque as coisas no plano de realizações continuam como dantes aqui.
A Lei Geral da Copa continua sendo rolada para “amanhã”, as coisas na CBF estão piorando, já existe um grupo de presidentes de Federações que vislumbram encherem mais ainda os próprios bolsos. E o futebol brasileiro continua jogado às traças, a seleção continua com o mesmo técnico e os jogadores sendo chamados por interesses, que, diga-se de passagem, não são os que a Nação espera e assim é o nosso Brasil.

Valcke and Blatter apologized in letters to the Brazilian government, which was accepted, and was then set a meeting in Brasilia. At the meeting, Dilma assured that the country will comply with the guarantees agreed to perform the Cup, but it was unclear whether Valcke remains as the main intermediary between FIFA and Brazil.
