O adeus de um ídolo. Assim, de uma hora para outra e sem muito estardalhaço, Juninho Pernambucano encerrou sua carreira como jogador profissional de futebol. Na véspera de completar 39 anos, o Reizinho da Colina chamou a diretoria do Vasco e comunicou a decisão.

O motivo é simples: ele tem sofrido muito para conseguir entrar em forma e voltar a entrar em campo para jogar em alto nível. O presidente do Vasco, Roberto Dinamite, confirmou a informação logo após a vitória do time sobre o Audax, em Volta Redonda. 

"Quero tornar oficial a decisão do Juninho.  Durante a semana já tínhamos conversado e ele decidiu encerrar a carreira. Na segunda-feira ele vai estar fazendo com vocês a despedida como atleta do Vasco", disse Dinamite. 

A decisão havia sido tomada ano passado, após a grave lesão na coxa direita sofrida em novembro que o tirou de combate na reta final do Brasileiro. No entanto, com a chegada de Rodrigo Caetano, Juninho ouviu o pedido para que tentasse ao menos ajudar no Carioca e voltou atrás revendo a ideia da aposentadoria. Mas a rotina aliada a uma evolução lenta o fez desistir.

Juninho chegou ao Vasco em 1995 e ficou até 2001 nesta que foi sua primeira passagem pelo clube. Ele se tornou ídolo da torcida com gols, passes e muitos títulos. Conquistou os Brasileiros de 1997 e 2000, o Carioca de 1998, o Rio-São Paulo de 1999, a Mercosul de 2000 e a Libertadores de 1998.

Foi na Libertadores, por sinal, que a idolatria foi consolidada. Na semifinal, diante do River Plate, marcou em cobrança de falta impecável o gol que eliminou o clube argentino da competição e colocou o Vasco na final. Posteriormente o título seria conquistado diante do Barcelona de Guayaquil. Em 2011, retornou ao clube, foi decisivo na campanha do vice-campeonato Brasileiro e saiu no fim do ano para o New York Red Bulls, onde ficou apenas sete meses. Ano passado voltou, mas sofreu a lesão que o faria encerrar a carreira.

Além do Vasco, Juninho não passou por muitos clubes. Foi revelado pelo Sport, onde conquistou o Pernambucano e a Copa do Nordeste de 1994. Após a primeira saída do Vasco, foi para o Lyon onde também se tornou ídolo. Conquistou o campeonato francês sete vezes consecutivas - entre 2002 e 2008 -, além de ser tricampeão da Supercopa da França e da Copa da França em 2008. De lá foi para o Al-Gharafa, onde ficou por três anos.

Pela Seleção Brasileira, foram 43 jogos e sete gols. Conquistou a Copa das Confederações de 2005, mas conviveu com a frustração de não ter sido convocado para a Copa do Mundo de 2002. O sonho de disputar a maior competição de seleções veio em 2006, mas a eliminação para a França foi um baque tão grande que ele decidiu que não vestiria mais a camisa amarela.

No meu entender, mais um Nordestino que foi duramente castigado por sua origem, é uma pena que raramente temos jogadores desta região nas hostes da Seleção Brasileira. Tem gente ate que fala que isto é utopia, mas, aqui para nós, utopia é sim, deixar os grandes valores de nossa região sem a devida oportunidade por discriminação e bairrismo.

É uma pena que Juninho não se lembrou de Pernambuco para se despedir, pois foi aqui que começou seu reinado.

Sport Club Recife sobe para a primeira divisão nacional, e agora vem a famosa renovação (e com contratos curtos pela falta de conhecimento, já estão quase todos terminando), mas, muito embora que neste caso, o mal chegou para beneficiar a instituição, quanto ao presidente, já vai avisando, não irá fazer “loucuras”, mas, acho e tenho certeza que não é loucura, é uma necessidade, este elenco, mesmo tendo subido, todos viram que não reúne condições de ser mantido para a Serie A, apenas alguns.

Tendo como o executivo do Futebol, uma pessoa que não trabalha no futebol profissional, como será isto possível. Ou reinventam isto, ou tem que rever os conceitos, do contrário vai ficar feito gangorra, sobe um ano, desce no outro.

E aqui pra nós, se tem condições de formar uma equipe bem forte e jovem, mas, antenada e com conhecimento para solidificar esta subida, trazendo recursos para se contratar mais, e melhor, e até de participar de Conmebol, Libertadores, e negociando jogadores, transferidos definitivamente, este negócio de transferir provisóriamente não dar certo(será sempre barriga de aluguel e sempre refém dos outros clubes ou empresários), é assim que penso.

Lembro que o Sport Recife, sempre foi um clube diferenciado, muitos atletas que foram ídolos ou diferenciados no futebol Brasileiro, já vestiram esta camisa. Manga, Almir, Eder, Leão, Dario, Luciano, Givanildo, Tovar, Tobias, Zetti, Paulo Vitor, e muitos outros, e sem falar que aqui foram formados ou começaram, uma plêiade de bons jogadores como, Flávio, Gilberto, Bosco, Roberto, Luis Carlos, Juninho.

Precisamos nos reinventar para que possamos subir e ficar, participar de uma Serie A, somente fazendo contas de quantos pontos precisamos para não cair, é muito constrangedor, além de ser mediocridade pura.

Nossos dirigentes são altos executivos, empresários, e bem sucedidos profissionais liberais e que ser “presidente” de um destes clubes é apenas um detalhe, uma questão de “status” somente, estão ali porque tem um respaldo de amizade, tem dinheiro e posição destacada em nossa comunidade ou até vem de famílias que lá chegaram e se consolidaram, mas que precisam acordar e entender que os tempos mudaram, o futebol é uma indústria e pode fazer dinheiro como qualquer outra se bem direcionado e administrado profissionalmente, e dá lucros, dentro e fora do campo.

Mas estas pessoas não entendem e não reconhecem isso, a soberba e a arrogância é bem maior que a instituição, então eles deixam seus próprios interesses se sobreporem ao cargo e para ganharem notoriedade e quem sabe um plus, além de satisfazerem seus “egos”, pois é raro o Berlusconi, por exemplo, dá entrevistas falando de problemas do clube, de jogadores, etc., só aqui nesta terra chamada brasilis.

FIFA.com: Faz dois anos que você está no Catar. Como foi a sua adaptação?
Juninho Pernambucano: A minha vida aqui é muito agradável. Depois de oito anos na França, não tive nenhuma dificuldade especial para me adaptar. É verdade que há uma mudança cultural, mas foi a mesma coisa quando me mudei do Brasil para a França. Sou eu quem está chegando, então cabe a mim fazer um esforço para me adaptar o mais rapidamente possível. E como a qualidade de vida em Doha é muito boa, fica mais fácil se integrar. Para mim, isso é tão importante quanto o que vivi no Lyon e no Brasil. Infelizmente não conseguimos manter o título na atual temporada, só brigamos pelo segundo lugar. Mas ainda há as duas Copas e tentaremos ganhar pelo menos uma.
Você disputou a Copa Libertadores, a Liga dos Campeões da UEFA e também a da Ásia.

Essas três competições despertam a mesma paixão nos jogadores e na torcida?
Os times têm o mesmo objetivo em toda parte: participar do torneio que reúne os melhores. Todo time tem vontade de disputar esse torneio. No Brasil, conseguir vaga na Libertadores é quase mais difícil do que depois que se participou uma vez. Para muita gente, a Liga dos Campeões europeia é a melhor competição de clubes do mundo, mas sem os times brasileiros. E na Ásia encontrei um torneio com a mesma paixão e um nível muito bom. Infelizmente não consegui ganhar na Europa com o Lyon e no ano passado também fui eliminado com o Al Gharafa, mas tive a sorte de vencer a Libertadores com o Vasco da Gama. Foi maravilhoso. São competições fantásticas com que todo jogador sonha.

Na última temporada você foi eleito o melhor jogador do campeonato, mas não dá para falar do seu futebol sem mencionar as cobranças de falta. Você continua trabalhando nelas, mesmo aos 36 anos?
Talvez seja um dom. Tenho a capacidade de bater bem na bola, mas o principal é que trabalhei muito para isso. É treinando que se evolui. O meu sucesso é uma mistura de trabalho, vontade e prazer de treinar. Durante toda a minha carreira, os treinos com bola parada sempre foram muito importantes. O Catar foi escolhido para receber a Copa do Mundo da FIFA em 2022. O que você achou dessa decisão?
Não fiquei surpreso com a escolha, porque o Catar trabalhou bastante e apresentou um projeto muito bonito. É o primeiro país do Golfo a ser escolhido pela FIFA para sediar a Copa do Mundo e isso deixará as portas abertas para os demais. Todos os países do mundo têm o direito de pedir para receberem uma Copa. Será um torneio incrível e os torcedores terão a possibilidade de ver diversas partidas, porque tudo acontecerá dentro de um perímetro pequeno. É claro que o calor será algo muito importante, mas o Catar tem tudo para conseguir realizar uma das melhores Copas da história.

Depois que você saiu do Lyon, o clube não ganhou nenhum título. O que está faltando para voltar a vencer? Acha que o time não encontrou um substituto para você, tanto dentro de campo quanto no vestiário?
Nunca vai existir um time que possa ganhar tudo sempre. Completamos uma série excepcional de sete títulos consecutivos. É difícil ganhar, e ainda mais difícil continuar ganhando. Mas o Lyon manteve uma equipe competitiva e que chegou à semifinal da Liga dos Campeões, coisa que eu jamais consegui fazer. Quanto à minha saída, acredito sinceramente que ninguém é insubstituível, salvo talvez jogadores como Pelé ou Ronaldo quando encerram as suas carreiras, algo que também vai acontecer com o Lionel Messi. Eu não sou insubstituível e o Lyon já virou a página da minha saída. Mas é um clube cuja história marquei pessoalmente. Guardo o Lyon sempre no coração e na memória, por isso tenho vontade de voltar um dia para desempenhar alguma função e ajudar com a minha experiência.

Você tem a sensação de ter deixado o clube um ano mais cedo?
