CIDADE DA COPA EM PERNAMBUCO É O DIFERENCIAL / PERNAMBUCO STATE ARE BUILDING A CITY TO HOST A WORLD CUP, THIS IS THE DIFFERENTIAL.

Das 12 sub-sedes da Copa 2014, Pernambuco é a que tem o projeto mais ambicioso. A intenção do governo para a chamada Cidade da Copa é criar um novo polo urbano, um bairro moderno que possa desenvolver o Oeste da Região Metropolitana do Recife.

A região deverá ter estruturas destinadas a moradia, entretenimento, educação (campus da Universidade de Pernambuco), além de escritórios e torres comerciais. Tudo planejado na concepção de “cidade inteligente”, a primeira da América Latina, provida dos sistemas modernos de tecnologia de informação e de comunicação.

“A Cidade da Copa é o maior legado que a Copa vai deixar no País. Nas outras onze cidades, está se construindo ou se reformando estádios. Nenhum outro Estado tem um projeto com essa dimensão”, diz Ricardo Leitão, secretário da Copa em Pernambuco.

O fato de o estádio estar situado longe do centro do Recife agradou ao secretário geral da Fifa, Jérôme Valcke. “Fora da cidade é mais fácil para se adequar ao que necessitamos para a Copa. De certa forma, até prefiro que seja fora da cidade”, declarou, em visita à Arena Pernambuco na última terça-feira, dia 26.

Na realidade é isto mesmo que o Secretário da Copa está falando, o projeto é faraônico, digno de um País de primeiro mundo onde a corrupção e os desvios de dinheiro não acontecem com tanta volúpia. Até agora não entendi o porquê dele ter sido escolhido para ser esse secretário, talvez pelo QI - Quociente de Indicação - que já começa errado.

Além de que o Recife precisa ser repaginado para que o tráfego possa fluir normalmente, mesmo com a maré alta e a chuva. Pois chegar nessa nova parte da cidade em qualquer hora é um tremendo desafio.
