O SEGUNDO DOS EMBAIXADORES BRASILEIROS NA COPA DO MUNDO NO BRASIL / THE SECOND AMBASSADOR IN BRAZIL TO THE WORLD CUP

Nascido na cidade de Campos no Estado do Rio de Janeiro, e agora com 73 anos de idade, Amarildo Tavares da Silveira fez sua estreia no FIFA World Cup ™ contra a Espanha no Chile 1962. Jogando em lugar de Pelé machucado, ele se mostrou à altura da tarefa ao marcar os dois gols de sua equipe na vitória por 2-1 que levou o Brasil para as quartas -de-final.

Amarildo marcou seu primeiro gol de empate do Brasil na final contra a Tchecoslováquia e começou a jogada que levou ao segundo tento, marcado por Zito. 

A Seleção Brasileira, acabou vencendo por 3-1 e manteve sua coroa de Campeão na Copa do Mundo da FIFA, enquanto homem de frente Amarildo partiu para o Chile com um novo apelido , O Possesso, dado a ele pelo escritor Nelson Rodrigues por conta de seu estilo combativo de jogar.

Seu primeiro clube foi o Goytacaz, no Rio de Janeiro. Passando para o Flamengo para uma rápida estadia, ele então se transferiu para o Botafogo, onde conquistou o campeonato estadual em 1961 e 1962, o ano em que O Fogão também ganhou o Torneio Rio- São Paulo.

Um ano mais tarde ele se mudou para a Itália, onde ele iria jogar pelo AC Milan, Fiorentina e Roma, sucessivamente, conquistando o título de 1969 na Serie A jogando pelo Florença e uma Copa da Itália com o Milan dois anos antes.

Depois de passar nove temporadas no futebol Italiano, Amarildo voltou ao Brasil para ajudar o Vasco da Gama a ganhar o Brasileirão de 1974 antes de encerrar sua carreira.

Born in the city of Campos in Rio de Janeiro state, the now 73-year-old Amarildo Tavares da Silveira made his FIFA World Cup™ debut against Spain at Chile 1962. Playing in place of the injured Pele, he proved up to the task by scoring both his side’s goals in the 2-1 win that took Brazil into the quarter-finals.

Amarildo went on to score Brazil’s first-half equaliser in the Final against Czechoslovakia and began the move that led to their second, scored by Zito. A Seleção ran out 3-1 winners to retain their FIFA World Cup crown, while front man Amarildo departed Chile with a new nickname, O Possesso (The Possessed One), given to him by the writer Nelson Rodrigues on account of his combative style of play.

His first club were Goytacaz in Rio de Janeiro. Moving on to Flamengo for a brief stay, he then joined Botafogo, where he won the state championship in 1961 and 1962, the year in which O Fogão also won the Rio-Sao Paulo Tournament.

A year later he moved to Italy, where he would run out for AC Milan, Fiorentina and Roma, winning the 1969 Serie A title with the Florence side and a Coppa Italia with Milan two years previously.

After spending nine seasons in calcio, Amarildo returned to Brazil to help Vasco da Gama win the Brasileirao 1974 before calling time on his career.

A revista americana de negócios Forbes revelou sobre a Premier League, que o gigante Manchester United se tornou o primeiro clube desportivo que quebrou a barreira de uma avaliação de US $ 3 bilhões.

As ações do clube oferecidos ao público em agosto passado em US $ 14 sairam mal no começo, mas o preço aumentou nos últimos dias chegando em US $ 17.

American business magazine, Forbes has revealed Premier League giants Manchester United have become the first sports club to break the $3 billion valuation barrier.

The shares of the club offered to the public last August at $14 did poorly in the beginning but the price has soared up in the last few days touching at $17.

Only in November of last year, the club’s gargantuan debts have fallen below £400 million ($628.5m) for the first time since the Glazers took over at the club in May 2005.

The Florida based owners, borrowed £515 million ($809m) in completing the takeover of the club at £790 million ($1.2bn) seven years ago and have been re-financing the debts since through public offerings or IPO and bonds in New York. At the time of the IPO, serious concerns were raised around the prudence of financial investment into a debt-laden sports team and football journalists and fans, unhappy at Manchester United’s leveraged takeover and the damage it has done to United’s finances, predicted a poor outcome.

However, the worth of Manchester United as a global brand and a remarkable increase in sponsorships since the Glazer takeover were not to be under-estimated. At an initial value of $14 per share, Manchester United was one of the safest of financial bets that you could make in 2012. The club was generating sufficient revenues to stay competitive on the pitch and keep paying down the loans. No other club in England could make it work.

Now, according to Forbes, Manchester United’s stock has outperformed the S&P 500, which is basically a stock market index based on the market capitalizations of 500 leading publicly traded companies in the U.S. stock market, as a result of which it has pushed up the club’s enterprise value to $3.3 billion (debts included), which is the highest value for any team in the world. NFL’s Dallas Cowboys are second most valuable team in the world, worth $2.1 billion.

Manchester United however, remained third in the Deloitte Money League table for 2012/13 behind La Liga, giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Jürgen Klinsmann, ex-jogador da Alemanha e atual técnico dos Estados Unidos, afirmou que o Brasil 'talvez tenha deixado o barco passar' em relação a toda evolução do futebol. Em entrevista ao site oficial da Fifa, ele fez muitos elogios ao estilo de jogo da Espanha e aos confrontos da Liga dos Campeões da Europa.

- A Espanha é um excelente exemplo, e o Barcelona talvez seja o melhor exemplo. Em uma menor escala, a Alemanha e a Holanda estão fazendo o mesmo: fazendo o futebol avançar, mudando a maneira como se joga. Estive no Brasil recentemente e foi incrível perceber que talvez o país tenha deixado um pouco o barco passar com relação ao tipo de desenvolvimento que está ocorrendo em lugares como a Espanha.

E estamos falando do país pentacampeão mundial. As tendências são definidas na Europa, especialmente na Liga dos Campeões. Agora precisamos fazer uma análise e descobrir como chegar a esse nível e a esse estilo de jogo.

Segundo Klinsmann, esse modelo de futebol usado na Espanha é um dos pontos que procura abordar com os jogadores da Seleção Americana. É importante mostrar a forma de competitividade dessa escola que é a atual campeã mundial.

Todos nós sabemos da falta de interesse do Ricardo Teixeira com o nosso futebol, tanto faz primeira, segunda ou o resto das divisões. E no resto nem é bom falar, pois não existe mesmo. Precisamos urgentemente mudar isso, do contrário, vamos perder mais uma Copa do Mundo, e agora é dentro de casa. Além de ver o trem passar, e já esta passando rapidamente e se em 1950 foi considerado um desastre nacional, imagine agora, com estas torcidas organizadas, e toda esta violência nos estádios, além é claro de perdermos tudo o que se conquistou desde 1958.
