O dinheiro 'jogado fora' em troca da privacidade dos atletas no hotel que recebe a delegação equivale a R$ 385 mil, no mínimo. Esse cálculo é baseado em pacotes promocionais para grandes grupos de hóspedes, vigentes há vários meses, como revelou ao Estado um alto funcionário do hotel.

A entidade fechou o Hotel Mercure, construído ano passado, e arcou com as despesas de 170 quartos por uma semana e meia - 50 deles serviram a jogadores, à equipe de profissionais que trabalha com Luiz Felipe Scolari, a funcionários de empresas que prestam serviço à CBF e convidados Vips, incluindo vários representantes dos patrocinadores da confederação.

Somente três quartos dos 173 disponíveis no hotel permaneceram com seus hóspedes - pessoas que praticamente moram no local. Dos 18 andares do Mercure, nem a metade foi utilizada desde o domingo retrasado.

O Estado conversou com três funcionários do hotel nos dias em que a seleção esteve em Porto Alegre para jogar com a França. Um deles afirmou que teve acesso ao contrato firmado entre o Mercure e a CBF, no qual se estabeleceu, por exemplo, o compromisso de que ninguém usaria a suíte presidencial, cuja diária sai a R$ 4 mil. Os jogadores e a comissão técnica ficaram hospedados em apartamentos intitulados como "superior single". São suítes com cama de casal, TV de plasma de 32 polegadas, sistema de Wi-Fi, cofre, ar-condicionado, escrivaninha e frigobar - que, para os atletas, só contém água por determinação da CBF.

Em entrevista exclusiva ao "Estado", publicada nesta terça-feira, Luxemburgo falou sobre o futebol praticado no País, sobre a Copa de 2014 e defendeu a permanência de Neymar no Brasil.

Ao ser questionado se o Barcelona é o exemplo a ser seguido atualmente como modelo de sucesso para o futebol brasileiro, o treinador lembrou que no passado o País se especializou em produzir equipes como a atual dos espanhóis.

Sobre o valor do futebol brasileiro e de copiarmos o atual modelo espanhol, acho definitivamente que Wanderley está certíssimo, não temos que copiar ninguém. Nós somos os donos do melhor futebol do mundo e quem já passou do meio século  de vida, sabe do que estou falando.

E sobre termos esta síndrome de tentarmos sempre olhar o quintal do vizinho, e achar que eles é que estão certos ou jogando melhor que nós, quero lembrar que somente o Brasil tem cinco títulos de Campeão Mundial e o que nos falta é apenas uma medalha de ouro para sermos e estarmos completos, em todos os tempos, como o País do futebol.

Só quero deixar uma nota, que noto, precisa ser notada. Isso deve aumentar o custo para erguer a arena, revela a edição desta terça-feira da Folha de S.Paulo.

A intenção do clube é que o banco seja intermediário do empréstimo junto ao Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico Social (BNDES). Isso porque o fundo responsável pela obra da Arena Corintiana e não teria consistência para levantar esse empréstimo com o BNDES, segundo apurou o jornal. Desta forma, a CEF poderá receber o valor do BNDES e levá-lo ao fundo.

Se essa transação realmente for concretizada, há o risco de a CEF não receber e, além dele, existe também a possibilidade de encarecimento do custo da obra do estádio. A construção da nova arena do Corinthians deverá ultrapassar bastante o valor estipulado atualmente, de cerca de R$ 600 milhões de reais.

De acordo com a reportagem, toda essa engenharia financeira só foi desenvolvida por conta da urgência em começar logo as obras do Itaquerão a tempo de o estádio ficar pronto para o Mundial do Brasil. Além da busca por garantias financeiras, há uma série de pendências legais junto à prefeitura de São Paulo para que os trabalhos sejam iniciados.
