Inicialmente, a visita estava agendada para o dia 7 de março de
2012.
Seria a primeira passagem de Jérôme Valcke na Arena Pernambuco.
Um imbróglio diplomático, desencadeado pelo próprio dirigente
francês, acabou a adiando a inspeção, que seria o primeiro evento com um nome
de peso da FIFA.
Agora, 111 dias depois, o secretário-geral da entidade que comanda
o futebol finalmente pisou no canteiro em São Lourenço da Mata.
Antes, teria encontrado 35% de avanço físico, 2.715 operários e
tempo bom.
Encontrou neste 26 de junho de 2012 um empreendimento com 43% das
obras executadas, 4.025 trabalhadores e clima cinzento.
Veio acompanhado dos ex-jogadores Ronaldo e Bebeto, membros do
conselho do Comitê Organizador Local (COL), alicerces para contrastar com as
duras opiniões do executivo.
Por mais que a equipe técnica da FIFA produza relatórios
quinzenais, a palavra de Jérôme Valcke, que está completando cinco anos na
função, será importante em novembro, na avaliação definitiva. Costumeiramente,
seu tom é o mais crítico da FIFA (veja aqui).
“Sei que todos querem saber se Recife estará pronto. Deem um voto
de confiança, porque as coisas vão acontecer. Quando as coisas devem ser ditas,
mesmo que sejam negativas, sou capaz de dizer. Porém, tenho certeza que o
Recife ficará pronto.”
Então, basta entregar a arena em fevereiro. Faltam oito meses para
ir de 43% a 100%.
Então parece que tudo está caminhando, depois de broncas e mal entendidos,
tudo tende a ficar bem. Espero que sim, porque nunca vi tanto cinismo, parece
até um jogo de pegadinhas.
Vamos pedir que São Pedro feche as torneiras dos céus, pelo menos
em cima da capital e da arena, pois no interior estamos precisando é de muita
chuva, que caem como bênçãos num povo que é bastante esquecido, além de sofrido.
